Ben Stokes Appears on “Beyond the Rona” Podcast

Last week, Ben was featured on Beyond the Rona on Apple Podcasts! This podcast highlights the rebuilding of “normalcy” and post-pandemic life in the greater Brisbane area. In last week’s episode, Ben sat down with hosts Tim and Andrea to discuss how he started Chasing Rainbows, and why he believes it’s important to provide “friends and family” early-stage capital to LGBTQ+ founders, who often lose out on support from their friends and family when coming out.

In the context of post-pandemic life, Ben emphasized how founders have had to adapt to a more remote environment. According to Ben, now more than ever, founders need to be more creative in how they leverage technology to “find new ideas” and “keep relationships alive.”

Additionally, Ben had an important message for female founders:

Don’t limit yourself as a woman. I can guarantee you, you are much smarter and much more capable than many men in the industry!”

“One thing I’ve perceived about the women founders I’ve invested in, and I’ve invested in a number of them, is that they know who they are when they walk into a room, and I think that that’s one of the things I’ve really been proud of in the women I’ve invested in is. They don’t take nonsense from men who often downplay them in any way. These women are strong women, and they know what they’re going after.”

In conclusion, Ben concluded the episode stressing the importance of self-confidence and believing in yourself, even in unprecedented times of doubt and rapid change: “don’t hold yourself back.”
