Transgender Awareness Week

This week, from November 13-19, the LGBTQ+ community and allies honor a specific group within our greater community: the trans community. In dedicating time and space to celebrate the trans community, we look to celebrate transgender people in order to increase representation, recognize trans struggles, promote advocacy, and further educate the public.

As alumni of Berkeley’s Venture Capital University course, Ben and Patrick wanted to show their support by making a donation to a Q@Haas event at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business for Trans Awareness Week. The aim of this event, “Celebrating Trans Joy with Honey Mahogany,” was to “raise visibility for the accomplishments of trans and non-binary business leaders.” As GP’s of Chasing Rainbows, Ben and Patrick are familiar with the extra barriers to success that LGBTQ+ business leaders face in today’s world. Ben and Patrick were happy to support this initiative, as a concrete way to celebrate the transgender community, and promote the elevating of transgender voices and resources!

This week serves as a reminder to continue the educational conversations on transgender identity, beyond the week of November 13-19. In solidarity with the trans community, the team at Chasing Rainbows acknowledges this week with the utmost respect and compassion for all trans people.
